WELCOME to HOME DECORATIVE QUILTING with
CLASSICALLY HOME COLLECTION ™ FABRICS:

Imagine the rich countryside of Provence, beautiful vintage French florals, and the timeworn shades of harvest country and you will have envisioned "Giverny." My inspiration came from rare and truly stunning French floral textiles of the mid to late 19th, century and was peppered by a desire to create fabrics that worked well with the classic styling of home decors. Too many fabrics, though pretty, don't make beautiful bedrooms and don't have the ambiance and style necessary to decorate your most important bedroom: the master bedroom suite. I wanted to create designs that would inspire you to re-do your master bedroom. Think what fun you can have making over your bedroom, with nothing more than fabric. This required classic, timeless designs that would work well with a variety of furniture hues including antique whites, cherry, oak, pecan, mahogany as well as the rich, dark walnuts and blacks so popular today. Something grand enough to create a stunning master bedroom "suite." And fabrics that take the work out of quilting. With lush and visually exciting motifs, the piecing patterns need not be quite as intricate and you need not work quite as hard to create fabulous visual masterpieces. With Giverny™, the "fabric" does the work.

I have always loved vintage quilts and the rich patina of the textiles of the 1800s. Over the past 20 years, I have done extensive research on vintage textiles and dyes, studying quilt styles, quilt history, and how important textiles are in our everyday lives.

I am drawn to highly detailed, finely engraved prints, the rich and saturated colors found in old textiles that were printed with vegetable dyes, and the elegance of patterns of the past. The designs of the 1800s, rich with wonderful textures and patterns that are both classic and timeless, often serve as the springboard for new Classically Home Collection™ designs. The 1830s to 1880s are my personal favorites. I truly enjoy the whole development process- from the design of a single motif, to putting them into a group, and finally, finessing the color, exacting and demanding just the right tint or shade.

The Classically Home Collection™ fabrics of Giverny™ are very well suited to decorating throughout the house. The color palettes are rich and saturated and reflect both classic styling as well as current trends and colors in today’s home.

The Giverny™ collection was developed in such a way that there is tremendous mix and match between the colorways. It is hard to find a distinct colorway in the group as the reds, blacks, golds, greens and caramels work across the board. This gives the group much more versatility.

Let me show you what you could do if you thought of the quilt as the beginning of the project and then added a bed skirt, pillows, curtains, etc. to create an ensemble. While your finished quilt is always a delight to behold, thing how much more dramatic and enviable it would be if your bed was piled high with comfy pillows, the bed was decked out with a perfectly coordinated skirting, and the windows were graced with just the right touch of color and pattern to accompany your quilt. Voila! With simple little extras, you have created a retreat within your own home, to nestle in on snowy nights or revel in during the heat of the summer.
